Tel Aviv

Okay so I had all these expectations of Israel. To be more specific, the videos or stills we watch on CNN whenever there are bombings going on in the Middle East. I also had images in my head that it is all about Jerusalem and old historical monuments.... To my surprise, Israel (or the cities I got to be in) were not at all what I had imagined. The cities were more westernized and it felt like home (except for the food).

Another thing that was to my surprise... was that I was expecting Jewish food while I was there. Given that the majority of the Israeli population are Jewish, I expected to enjoy chopped liver and tongue sandwich, stuffed cabbage, matzo ball soup, just to name a few. But the food I was exposed to during the trip were middle eastern style food. Hummus and Falafel were their 'fast food' so we had the fancy hummus and other food (that I can't quite categorize because they are foreign to me).

My trip was very productive in terms of work. One thing that I did notice is the effects aging has on tje ability and speed the body adjust to time change and jetlag. I was still walking around like a zombie 4 days after I came back from Israel. Ahhh - it is good to be home!!
